Ok Smoke..

I went and got some of this from Wally Mart..

And after the finger test I have to say that it almost lives up to it's name. Really good stuff. But very sweet.

If you like sweet BBQ sauce then this might be the ticket.

I thought so. It is at least as sweet.

My issue with SBR is that the first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup. I think we can do better

I will use SBR in a few applications - but generally do not like my sauces that sweet.

This brings up a question I've had - when I find sauces are too sweet, I'll add white vinegar and lemon juice - the acid from both tend to cut the sugar, at least a little bit - what do you do to try to fix sauces too sweet?

My boys love SBR.  I might have to pick one of these up to "experiment."

I don't think I've found a sauce that blows my socks off but I've been using Bullseye bbq Texas hot and it has nice flavor.
Love to cook and eat

I have been using Blues Hog Original mixed with their Tennessee Red on ribs, and I really like it.  It also is on the sweet side but not too much.  What are others opinion of Blues Hog?  The only problem is that I can only buy it on line.

When the Best BBQ sauce meets some heat and smoke, it takes on a whole new flavor. It gets a little tang that I pick up on. I am down to -4- bottles and I am gonna stock up on more this weekend............. :P :P :P

I love blues hog. I have not mixed the 2 before.....and I have both. Gonna try that.

Access to the good stuff is always a challenge. Got mine driving through Iowa. Minnesota is a desert for the good stuff.

One of my local hang outs, "The Grill Works" , in Cedar Rapids, Iowa carries both Blues Hogs and several others including the Rib King.  There's a guy in SE Minnesota that makes a sauce called Barret's Best.  You can get it in Stillwater at Brines market it's GOOOOOOOOOD
