It's heeer!
« Reply #-1 on: October 22, 2013, 08:12:17 PM »
FedEx showed up at 3:15 yesterday afternoon and started unloading my baby. Once on the driveway I started taking the wrappings off and pulling the pallet apart. After an hour or two I managed to coax it up on the deck.

Started today by leveling it on my 'not so new' deck followed by a quick wipe down inside & out. Next I fired it up for a couple hour burn-in at 350°, followed by a cool down and oiling the grates. Then loaded up 3 pounds of cheap bacon from Wal-Mart and cooked at 275° to start getting it greasy.

By the time all that was done I was ready to call it a day, so on with the cover and a good night hug! After reading the posts on the '640 here and elsewhere I was prepared for the few little quirks in it's operation and ended up very pleased with the first day!   ;D

So far I agree with what other owners have said; you just push the start button and leave it to do it's thing. Now I need to figure out how to stay home and still have money for food & pellets!  ::)

Congrats on the new pellet pooper.  Once you start cooking low and slow on your new grill, you will probably have to buy a vacuum sealer, if you don't already have one.  You will have a lot of fine food to seal into future meals.  Enjoy the fun!
