Mmmmmmm  ;D   I do love great onion soup!

Back when I was a road warrior and I'd often arrive at my hotel late in the afternoon or evening, I'd order a bowl of onion soup and a salad from room service.  It got to be kind of a private little contest of mine to see which hotel had the best -- many were very good and only a few were bad.  It was a nice dose of "comfort" at the end of a travel day.

Thanks for posting this -- I'm going to brew up a pot.

I love good french onion soup.  One of my favorite fall meals is french onion soup with a thick layer of melty cheese on top served with a pint of Guinness stout.

Dang, look at the gooey cheese in last picture, and the richness of the broth.

Very nice David. Now we're all hungry!
