Do you own the kitchen or share?
« Reply #-1 on: November 04, 2013, 05:24:10 PM »
I have to admit that I do 95% of the cooking in my house. When my wife decides she wants to cook something.....I hover around the kitchen looking annoyed.  Being judge mental and mostly a jerk

She does most things the opposite of me, uses the wrong knife or tool, and generally takes twice as long to do things then I do. And excessive dirty dishes. She measures everything......so annoying.

I am Pappy and I am a terrible kitchen sharer.....

I feel better now ;D

My wife is the boss in the kitchen.  When I cook, it is with her permission.  Outside is my territory, though when i am doing an outdoor cook I do take over the kitchen for prep, rest etc.  She does not share the kitchen well.  It is either hers or mine.  She will help me when I need it, but not cook at the same time.  She will not even allow me to help her.

Pappy, you are me.....or I am you!  Now confusion enters the picture. My dearest is a very good baker. You know, follow ALL the rules, measure twice pour once. Me, I follow only rules that I think I should follow, seldom measure anything, and always think that when she cooks, she's going to lop a finger off. Truth is......when I leave her alone, she, ahem, WE are better off. So I go have a FT or three.   8)

I am with you all.

I NEED to get my wife back to work and our lives back to normal. We do not share very well, well at least I don't.

My wife is an excellent baker and it is her kitchen when she is in the mood for baking! Other than
that it is my prep area cuz if I don't grill it or smoke it then it would be sammies! I used to believe that
I did a good job in cleaning up the mess I make.. BUT no I "surface" clean as she calls it, so I just tell
her I am done now and let her have the kitchen back so she clean it as she pleases!  8) ;D

As long as I got a spot in the fridge for my beer, I don't care about the kitchen and she can have it.........

ya I hang around when she cooks and bug her.  But she cleans up after my mess so I am a happy camper.  She can use the wrong knife or tool.

It's her kitchen and I get to use it if I clean up after myself. My meat slicer, stuffer, Grinder all reside in the garage :-\
