Fun Rib Cook Off
« Reply #-1 on: November 05, 2013, 05:45:41 PM »
Some friends of mine were debating who made the best ribs, so we decided to have a rib cook off as a party. It was a great idea with what BBQ is all about--good food and friends having a good time.

The deal was each person made two slabs of ribs--one for his family and one to share and be judged.Everyone made the ribs at their own place with their own grilling and smoking equipment. The ribs were then brought to my place for the event. The grills and smokers ran the gamut of a Weber, a kettle, a Master-built, and my ECB. One cook needed to finish his ribs on my grill. We started with 4 contestants, but one of the wives made a slab the last minute for judging. We had the wives do a blind judging and then handed out the trophy after dinner.

I came in second by the vote. Great time, and a great way to get friends together!

My ECB--Final prep for one of the cooks--plates ready for judging---my ribs that you all have seen before

The cooks, the judges, the presentation, and the trophy to the winner.

A fun time for all.

The ribs looked great.

I'm really impressed with two other things:  First what a tremendous looking place.  I would love to see more pictures of that cooking area and dock.  Second, is a question: what are those good looking ladies doing with them ugly lookin' boys?  Must be their cookin' skills.

Great time appears to be had by all.  Well done.

I really have to agree with Dee on this one. I know that if I were there, those women would have been all over me. I have the scent.
