It's COLD! 30 F with a 15 MPH north wind !
It's gumbo time!
Usually make smoked chicken & sausage gumbo but no chicken in freezer ???
Found 1&1/2 lb pulled pork & about the same in smoked sausage.
6 qt crock pot , added 2 purple onions, 2 bell peppers , 3 stalks celery , 1 tsp minced garlic & 3/4 lb frozen okra.
After work added pork, then I hour prior to serving added 1 pack Zatarain's gumbo base & sausage.
10 min before serving thickened with powdered roux mix.
Served over rice YUM!

Does this take the chill off of -10 degrees air temp too? No idea what the wind is blowing.....but it is.

Looks just excellent.

Powdered roux? Never heard of that. Does it have a brand name?

Looks mighty good to me LA.

We started out the day yesterday at 84 degrees and it dropped to the 50's by afternoon and to the mid 30's by late evening. I don't like temperature swings of 50 degrees in one day. It has made it up to 39 degrees today with a stout wind. Having to do chicken wings inside for the SEC game.... brrr.

Good lookin' gumbo there.  Vac sealed left over pulled pork has come through quite a few times for me too.  Nice job.
