Dialect Quiz
« Reply #-1 on: December 24, 2013, 08:30:45 AM »
This quiz nailed me pretty good.  My 1st two most similar places were Pittsburgh, PA (where I grew up) and Irving, TX (an area of DFW - not exactly where I live in the metroplex but interesting that it caught the Dallas influence on me).  It does not ask exactly the same questions if you take it again (most are the same, but there are some new ones).

It is fun!  I took it yesterday when a Facebook friend posted it.  It "parked" me in Yonkers, New York and Baltimore, MD.  This is interesting because I was born and spent most of my life in Oklahoma and now live in North Carolina.  One point is doesn't make is that you can have an accent from any region, but a speech pattern from another.

I looked on their map and saw a location in Columbus, GA - just 90 miles away.

It put me in Madison WI, Milwaukee WI, and Rockford, IL.  Not too far off, but with my "Beloved Bears" playing the Packers this Sunday........I'm a little upset about being tagged a cheesehead!  ???
