They are already starting to dwindle a lot of their value adds IMO.  Between having to pay taxes, raising the minimum for free shipping and honestly there not often being any better pricing on things (and sometimes way worse)  I have all but quit even looking at them as an option.  Assuming this increase occurs, I won't even consider Prime an option (not that I did anyways at $75 a year since I could care less about the streaming).

I just got a notice from Amazon that the price is going up to $99 for the prime membership. So that's a $20 increase, not too bad considering the increase in fuel costs that we've seen.

And, fo r me at least, it and will still more than pay for itself with the amount of supplies that I order on a yearly basis.

I watched a news report on Prime the other day regarding a lawsuit being filed because apparently Amazon has been getting most of their sellers to add the price of shipping into the cost of the merchandise resulting in a higher prime price than for the general public contrary to their policy statements. I don't know how true it is but it's something I would look into if I were a prime member.

I can tell you that almost every item I research the Prime eligible item is more expensive than the ones that the shipping is paid separately.  It isn't just the free Prime shipping they are going after but also the Super Saver free shipping.

I guess we're pretty lucky being in the Dallas area, there isn't much we have to order online if we don't want to.

I got the same notice about the increase effective in 2015. I really can't complain as I order enough
from Amazon for it to pay for itself.

Haven't decided if I'm going to renew. Lot's of choices out there and not really sure it's worth the increase.
