I watched a news report on Prime the other day regarding a lawsuit being filed because apparently Amazon has been getting most of their sellers to add the price of shipping into the cost of the merchandise resulting in a higher prime price than for the general public contrary to their policy statements. I don't know how true it is but it's something I would look into if I were a prime member.

Interesting! That is worth checking into. Thanks!

Happy to pass on the info, let us know if you find out anything more about it.

We got the notice too but to us it's worth it. My wife watches a lot of movies and with the prime most are free. I order a lot of food items that I can't get around here. A lot of the bigger items that I can't find locally and would have to order are usually cheaper with the free shipping and I like the 2 day shipping. You just have to look for the better deal. Sometimes I can use Wal-Mart or Lowes that have free site to store delivery, I only live a few blocks from both. I always figured especially with food items some shipping was added in to the cost. Don, I agree; the Prime membership works very well for us too.  We do a lot of video streaming, and I love the two-day shipping on most items comes in handy with computer repair parts I order, and REALLY came in handy with my daughter's college class books (the money we saved was astounding).

Better yet, if I need a computer part pronto to get a client up and running, it's usually just a few dollars to upgrade to overnight shipping. That alone pays for the membership with just a few orders.

I agree with the Prime service being worth it. My experience with Amazon has always been great.

Items I order have always arrived on time or earlier than expected.

Packaged properly and un damaged.

The correct item that ordered arrives.

Their website is easy to navigate and ordering is quick & easy.

They almost always carry what I am looking for too.

There have been times in the past where I found something that cost less on another website so I ordered from them. Well those results are not always good.

They forgot to even ship the product.

They sent me the wrong product.

Product arrived damage.

Product arrived late.

They don't reply to emails.

Charged the incorrect price.

Card was double billed.

So from my experience on the web I only really trust a few sites for purchases that I have experience with. Amazon happens to be one of them.

Well, I subscribe to Prime and have used it for many items that I purchase. I use Amazon about twice every month and sometimes every week. I find that their prices are usually less than local prices and other venders on the net. There are some things that they carry that I simply cannot find locally when I am located on a rural route in New Mexico.

I just renewed my membership to Prime in January, so I have a while to make up my mind. I use Netflix for streaming more than Amazon. I pay $108.00 for Netflix for the year so I may just lose that and continue with Amazon. They both show the same films.

Time to think.

If I can't buy it from Amazon, Costco, or Home Depot, I assume I don't need it ;D
