Three-bean chili
« Reply #-1 on: May 10, 2014, 01:11:13 AM »
Had to make chili for the annual employee pot luck, but as my luck would have it, I did not have enough dried black beans at home to make a full batch.  Decided to make the chili using 1 cup each black, pinto, and northern white.  Ground elk was the meat of choice, and of course, an assortment of dried chiles.  Topped with home smoked Gouda for dinner tonight.

My wife was experimenting with a new drink - she made what she calls rhubarb syrup, and she combined a dash of that and vodka in a shaker.  Into an iced glass and topped with tonic water.

Even though it is 90 degrees and humid here, I am in a chili kind of a mood.

I'm not big on beans in my chili, but your three bean version sounds interesting.  I may have to make a batch to try it out.  I have elk meat, so I am part way there.
