So my wife bought some sugar free maple flavored bbq sauce and I really don't like it. Maple? It reminds me too much of pancake syrup and I don't think it goes well with bbq (I really never have sauced anything but she like sauce on her ribs). Anyway I finally found something this sauce works well on. Salmon. I smoked the filet at 170 on my pellet grill for a couple of hours before basting, then basted and finished it off at 225. Really turned out well.

Oh, that looks good.

I've never tried doing one of those - I'm about the only one in my family that like salmon - but that looks really, really good.

I just went too costco to get salmon. Going to try this tonight.

That does look surprisingly by good. Like you, as much as I love maple syrup, I don't care for maple BBQ sauce. But I can see it working for salmon. I'd be willing to give it a try.
