Hey there! My name is Jennifer and I’m from Kansas City. My daughter goes to college in Memphis, so between KC and Memphis, it’s fair to say I’ve had my share of really good BBQ. I’ve always been the griller at home, (charcoal only, Weber) but it’s time to learn a little something new. I guess I decided to dive right in so I got a Gateway Drum Smoker and I want to learn how to smoke. I’ve never smoked anything, unless you count salmon on a cedar plank. I hope to learn a lot from all you fine folks. I seasoned the drum tonight and went to Costco for some meat. I have a brisket, pork ribs and pork belly for burnt ends. I can’t wait for this weekend to get started. Thanks in advance!

Love the flavor profile from upright drum smokers. The grease fog from the drippings hitting the lit coals below is a great flavor profile. don't need too much wood either......
