Chicken Legs on the Weber with the SnS
« Reply #-1 on: March 10, 2018, 09:13:52 PM »
Must be chicken leg night. Just saw a video from Tom on You Tube where he did legs too.
For those interested, the pulled pork from yesterday was fantastic. Everyone raved about how
good it was.

Click the "X" on the bottom right for full screen, looks better there.

Charcoal was good. A lot more small pieces than advertised. It burns hot, clean and doesn't spark much when lit. This was the first time I used it so I will test it more before I make any definite conclusion on it. At $37 a bag so far I don't see much different than my favorite lump which is Royal Oak lump. But time will tell. I want to give it a fair shot before any definite judgement. It got a great review on Naked Whiz so we will see.

The legs look perfect, Mike, as does the rest of the plate.

What's the temp when you cook legs and thighs like that?

Thanks Jack! Temp was somewhere between 350 and 400. With legs and wings I don't temp the grate, just go off of the lid thermo. With the SnS I had the bottom vent at 1/2 open and the top fully open.
