What an awesome gift! It was my birthday this past Wednesday and we celebrated it yesterday afternoon with eats, cake and gifts. My kids who aren't kids but are adults gave me a new Pit Boss 1150! Can't wait to get it put together and use it. My old Traeger Executive is in basically unusable condition right now because it's in need of some welding repairs. It still works as it should but needs metal repairs, a good cleaning and painting or powder coating. It'll be on the back burner for a while(get it? Lol.....)but one day it will be taken care of. The new 1150 will take over pellet cooking until that day.
I'll get some pictures up when I get it put together. Busy weekend here so I'm not sure if I get anything done with it today. Got to get a gun or two out for a range trip and lunch with a couple of friends today.

Nate that is AWESOME! Please show us the pics and give us a report on how it cooks-=
Thanks

Thanks guys!
Yesterday after getting home from a great time at the range I managed to squeeze in enough time to put the Pit Boss together. Also did the initial burn off so it should be ready to cook on one day soon.

I like how the Flame Broiler area looks! Should come in handy. I had the grates inside being washed in hot soapy water when I took these pictures.

Now I do have a problem after yesterday range trip. Both of the guys I went with have 6"Colt Pythons that I shot yesterday. Not the new version being made now but the older generations. Those guns are amazing shooters. I've decided to get myself one. Not a cheap toy! I'll just sell some other things I have to make room and the cash for the Python. Lol........ The search for the right one is on!!!

Fine lookin' piece of equipment!
I know you will be cookin' up a lot of great grub on it.

Loving that can of lager with the awesome new grill. Surprised to see that beer down south!
-
Here, in the South, we would say that is the a"honkin' big grill". Yeah, I think that pretty much describes it.
Very nice.
BTW, I hope you had a great time celebrating with your family and friends.

Nice score Cajunate. I know you'll make the best of it.
-
Wow that is a great looking grill. Like the addition of the pull handle for the grate. Mine no have.
-
Thanks! I used it Thursday evening to grill some burgers. We all enjoyed the m and the grill works pretty good.
In the past I've just turned off my old Traeger Executive 125 and unplugged it. Since I have to make some room on the patio I rolled it to where it was easy to cook on. When I turned off the Pit Boss it goes into a Shut down mode where it sounds like the fan keeps blowing. Not crazy about that.
-
Nice grill Nate! I have had 3 Pit Boss grills, I liked them all. That flame broil feature is really nice, works great for steaks. The cool down feature doesn't run for too long but I can see how it could annoy you, lol! It is a loud fan.
-
OP, nice new grill.
On the matter of the Python do yourself a favor and buy a Smith 586 or 686 or two of them for less money than the snake and get some ammo too.
You can still get parts for the Smith's and get them worked on should you ever need to. There are almost no Python parts around anymore and likewise with gunsmiths to work on them. You can guarantee you will need to have them worked on.

Cajunate, congrats on the new grill and congrats on your birthday. I know that you will cook some delicious food on it.
