Title: A unattended benefit of the DCBE
Post by: TMB on April 01, 2012, 12:14:12 AM
I smoked two 10lbs butts today on my DCBE ( charcoal Big Easy) which took about 9 hrs.   When I removed the lid and center section this is what I found (http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt326/TMBs/Photo078.jpg)

I looks as if I had it panted or powder coated but it not just 9 hrs of pecan wood.

LA says to season the inside and outside of the chamber for a Big Easy and it will cook better  8) I think mine is about as seasoned as you can get

Being shiny like that could contribute to some higher temps........correct??

The last chamber I used does cook faster in the SRG. This chamber came from a Costco 25# unit that I had.     Seasoning the outside really seemed to help a lot
