First attempt at sous vide pork chops
« Reply #-1 on: February 26, 2018, 01:03:40 PM »
I bought some nice inch-and-half thick pork chops from Costco.  I seasoned 2 of them with some BBQ seasoning, 3 of them with rosemary/garlic rub (along with some fresh rosemary), and 4 with just salt & pepper.  Vacuum sealed and into the hot tub for 1.5 hours.  Seared them on the gas grill using my Grill Grates for a minute on each side.  They turned out fantastic - very juicy and tender.  Definitely going to cook these more often.

They look great!  I love the Sous Vide for its convenience and great food! I have chicken breast seasoned with cilantro & jalapeno taking a bath right now as I just got a notification that the ice bath was above 40F  - they will be ready for chicken soft tacos tonight when I get home from work!

They look really good, but Kimmie would never go for such a nice looking chop I'd have to burn them and that's why I don't use sous vide :( :( :(

Looks good. Did you put any olive oil or butter in with the chops? How did the pack of four cook compared to others?

I did not put any olive oil or butter in with the chops.  The four with just S&P were for the kids.  I thought they tasted great - just plain pork flavor.  My kids just dipped them in ketchup so they didn't really savor the pork flavor but they said it was good.

I was more curious since there was four in one vacuum seal bag, where typically I individual seal each one.  thanks.

Those are gorgeous.  Like Tailgatin, I purchased a full set of sous vide gear (Anova, water vessel and lid to prevent evaporation, new vacuum sealer) and haven't actually broken it all in.  I need to do so ... juicy porkchops are a thing of beauty.
