I once had crock-pot ribs an old German lady made for us. She put them in with sour kraut and brown sugar. Yep they were great!

My wife can turn out some pulled pork in the Crock Pot that is as good as you get in a lot of BBQ joints (I will leave you to determine how good that is), but not as good as low and slow smoked BBQ'ed pulled pork from a real BBQ joint. I would imagine these ribs might be as good as some of the ribs you get in a chain restaurant, those fall of the bone, sloppy with sauce ribs that lot's of folks think is the only way to have ribs. Personally I don' t like fall of the bone ribs, I like some tooth to mine. I also don' t like sloppy wet ribs. I like dry ribs with sauce applied after cooking if at all.

Like a old wise man I know once said, "If you like and your guests like it, then it is good".

I am working very hard to improve my smoking skills. My friends are always handing me stuff to try from some packaged product. If I wanted that I would have not brought the smoker.

I am always polite and say that is very good ???

Yep, you can make some mighty fine ribs in a crockpot but you gotta remember to boil 'em first.

Nothing wrong with crock pot ribs (my wife does fantastic country style ribs and kraut in the crock) as long as they aren't referred to as BBQ.  >:(  I'm not exactly tolerant though.  I don't even like to refer to sauce as "BBQ" sauce.

I once worked for a chef that always boil the ribs with a mirepoix until they were cooked to death. Then he'd throw them on the salamander and slather them with Cattlemen's sauce... He called them "world famous" ribs...

They were garbage!

I tried BBQ'in some sauce once...it kept runnin' thru the grates, so I gave up on it... ;D
