My James must NEVER see this.... he'll be buying up all the discounted peeps in town and doing "scientific testing" off the back deck for days.   ::)

I really expected the .50 to go deeper before being deflected.

Oh I'm sure you two would get along swimmingly!   He has a small assortment in his collection, but nothing quite that large of caliber!!  Although if he saw that clip, he'd probably convince himself that he just can't possibly continue his existence without one ASAP.   He builds his own custom suppressors too, so I'm sure it would turn into a several-months-long project just so he could stealthily blow up marshmallow bunnies and chicks.    ::)

Maybe I WILL show him, and just tell him his 45 will have to suffice.  (And yes, I will film it if he does!) :)

An absolutely classic case of incorrect weapon selection!  I'd like to see the same test carried out with a 12 ga. shotgun.  Should that fail, then the obvious choice would be a machine gun or a hand grenade  ;)

Actually, those high velocity rounds sometimes don't do as well as a .44 Magnum.  I have seen a number of penetration tests with ballistic gel where the ,44 Mag out-penetrated a lot of African big game rounds.  Low and slow with a bunch of mass.
