I may be pushing my luck!
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2018, 10:08:59 PM »
I know this is a BBQ site but I do make silly little non-bbq videos here and there. I am still learning my way around the hobby but here's my latest. It's a short little review of my motorcycle. I had a lot more content but my voice is almost gone due to having the crud, lol. I couldn't do a proper voice over unfortunately.

If these types of videos aren't welcomed, just let me know and I'll respect the judgment and not post them :)

Not my style, but, great review nonetheless.  (Dark Horse Chieftain)

Agree 100% on the cruise and ABS.  I wish mine had the Ride Command that all of the other Chieftains got in 2017.

My theory is, Polaris knew the DHC'tain was going to be a big hit and they had a bunch of the old style displays on the warehouse, but I'm just cynical that way.  One of these days I'll be looking for rear-ended 2018 for parts  ! ! !

Stay Safe ! ! !

Thanks RAD, you just never know what people might say when you go outside the lines a little, lol. I am destined to make another BBQ video sooner or later. I have an idea for a quick one!

I acknowledge it's not for everyone. As you saw in the video, I used to have a power cruiser so to go from it to the FZ is a little odd I guess, lol. They both have the same riding position so I like it. In all fairness though, I love just about all motorcycles. I wave at all of them, I find most HD guys don't wave back, which is funny to me. Hell, I even wave at guys on scooters, Can Ams and Trikes. If your knees are in the breeze then I'll wave :P

That looks like it's straight out of Batman's garage! I love it!

Tee, as for Yamaha, it's the highest rated brand for reliability according to Consumer Reports : https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/04/who-makes-the-most-reliable-motorcycle/index.htm

I have personally only ever owned Yamahas for myself. Now, I have bought other brands, 2 to be exact. Both for my wife. A Honda and her current bike, a KTM. The KTM, I doubt, will be a long term bike but for now it does seem okay. The throttle was sticking recently which wasn't good. You could take your hand off of the throttle and it would just stay there, like cruise control of sorts, lol. I took it in and had it lubed and all was well. It only had 600 miles on it though! If that's a sign of things to come, it will be sold and a Yamaha bought. I tried to buy a Yamaha for her to begin with but she wanted the KTM ::)

"Back in the day..." I rode a  Yamaha Virago 920. @ cylinder V-Twin street machine. First bike to use all electronic gauges as I remember...loved that bike. I have ridden KTM, Hodaka, Bultaco, Penton and Suzuki motocross/ English Trials bikes . The Penton was a 6 Day...English Trials bike. Loved that kind of competition.

Have you considered a trike? That may be an option to get your knees back in the breeze!

I love the old Bultaco bikes. I have a buddy who just inherited his uncle's 1973 Bultaco 250. It's in decent shape but he's going to restore it. He's a motorcycle mechanic so he's one leg up already! He's excited about it, I would be too!

When I was little, my brother had a Benelli 50 and two Honda CT-70s (trail 70) and I leaned to ride a motorcycle about the time I learned to ride a bike, lol. Good times!

My last bike was a Yamaha 650 twin back in the 80's.  I loved the simplicity of it.  It made great noises and had just enough power to be fun without swapping ends with me.  Every now and then I get to looking at bikes again . . .  ::)
