Post by: MJSBBQ on May 10, 2022, 07:05:28 PM
Anyone use a griddle on top of their gas burner?  Which brand?

Mine came with my stove...I have a griddle or just a burner in the center. I use them on the grill a lot, and also on an open fire. Go for cast iron is the best. The bigger the better.

Any specific cast iron brand? Does the griddle need to cover the entire grill grates, or maybe just half (I have an old Char Broil 4 burner)?

I have a relative that has a dedicated griddle Blackstone and makes some good stuff. I really don't want a dedicated griddle like a Blackstone, but thought maybe an accessory griddle to put on top of the grates when needed would be cool.

I say go for the biggest griddle you can get...you have the room with a 4 burner. You won't regret the bigger one.
Lodge makes a nice one so go for it, you will use it. Get your best price but don't overlook garage sales for cast iron, even if you have to clean and reseason. you don't have to cover the entire grill as long as you have air space. Smaller is fine. Gonna cost a lot for a BIG one. I have never seen one that big.

Thanks!

I checked out the Lodge web site. Cool and informative!
