Who doesn't love a good bowl of hot tomato soup served alongside a grilled cheese sandwich?
I started playing around with my own version of tomato soup about a year ago. My goal was to create something that was quick and simple using ingredients most folks would have on-hand. And, of course, it had to taste great. Here's what I came up with:
Quick & Easy Homemade Tomato SoupMakes one large or two smaller servings.
Ingredients1 - 6 oz. can Tomato Paste
3 cans of Water or... 2 cans Water + 1 can Milk
3/4 tsp Italian Seasoning (or 1/4 tsp each: dried Basil, Oregano & Thyme)
1 TBS Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
Directions:Whisk all ingredients together, in a sauce pan, until smooth. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, just until boiling and starting to froth on top. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir one last time and serve.
