Title: My Summer kitchen 2015

Jun 22 2015

This is my equipment ready for the summer. My new Camp Chef single gas burner, a Weber Jumbo Joe that I got last year, a Weber Spirit 2 burner gas grill and my Traeger pellet smoker on the deck. I was finally able to find some decent covers for them. Camp Chef makes covers for most all their gas burners except the single. Weber does not make a cover for the Jumbo Joe, just a carry bag, but not all want to tote their grill around.

I found a cover for the gas burner on Amazon by Classic Accessories. It was round but does fit nice. It was $21 and nice material that looks like it will last. Old Dave told me there was one on e-bay that would fit the Jumbo Joe. I got it and is a little on the thin side but fits great and looks nice, it was just $10. I am happy now I can keep my grills covered.

I wish I had all this when the kids were in college and I was cooking for week-end parties. I use my Traeger the most and I love having the Weber gas close for searing after a smoke on some meats. Grillen Grates on the Weber makes a great set up for burgers, steaks and kabobs. As soon as fresh corn comes on I will do a shrimp boil on my gas burner and it is great for doing sides while the meat cooks. The Jumbo Joe probably won’t see much use because I am too lazy in my old age.

Don,

You need to do a few more cooks on that Jumbo Joe to get to know it as it is one great cooker and the only charcoal and wood cooker in your arsenal. There are many tips and tricks to making this little cooker very easy to cook on and clean after a cook.

Let me know if I can help...

Dave

Nice setup, Don.  Now as long as the rain and heat don't mess things up, too much, you will be busy this summer cooking outside.

If you decide you might want to get rid of the Jumbo Joe, let me know.
