After a long period without any old webers available the last 2 months several were posted!
Finished with my RedHead Genesis & a few days later got a Craig's list notification bout a Weber gasser.
Talked to the guy he had bought used a year ago & had replaced the burners, cast iron grates & porceloin flavorizer bars & still couldn't get working well. He couldn't control the heat he said he'd get it set & the temp would rise on its own.
Went & looked at it , great shape!
Frame no rust.
Firebox & hood great shape.
Grates, burners & bars minimal use.
It took about 2 minutes before I spotted the problem , ordered the correct part & hopefully it'll work fine
Pic shows the problem

I aint a gas guy but I am guessing the regulator on the hose........
-
.....................or no propane tank at all ::)
-
Natural gas.
-
I am going with the adjustable regulator - which I do not believe is a normal feature on the Weber - for LP..... And he probably did not know how to adjust it. They are a left hand thread on the red knob too I believe.....
-
Like Tee said, that is a high pressure adjustable regulator like you would have on a turkey fryer and not a low pressure for a grill. Get a gas grill regulator.

LOL! That was my first thought.

The real reason the grill doesn't (and better not ever) work is because if LA takes it home he'll become a prime candidate for wife-assisted suicide.
-
Crank it up LA. I don't see a problem...

I think the grill presents great negotiating power for the Mrs. LA....Could be a chip she will use to go on a vacation, or buy some new clothes, or? :D

You're making the (incorrect) assumptions that Tamara isn't already totally in charge and might ever need negotiating power.

No - I was trying to help LA save face....but you are right - and it is much too late for that..... :D At least he is "happily whipped" ;) so I can't feel too sorry for him.

Wo-Hoo!!
$13 gas grill regulator fixed
It's in really good shape , only part needed is new thermometer.
Took the cast iron grates from this & put on my redhead!
Put my porceloin steel grates & put on this.
Sold my deer camp spirit 500 to a hunting camp member who's been impressed by how well if cooks for what I bought this grill for & the regulator & moving the silver B to hunt camp.
No new grill at home , better grill for LostArrow, my friend gets a really good $50 grill everyone wins 8) 8)
