I'm just now getting a chance to break out the new chamber sealer I got for Christmas, can I use the Cabela's vacuum sealer bags I have in stock if I run out of the sampler bags that came with the new unit?
Also any tips or tricks learned the hard way that I need to be aware of? My first use is going to be to seal up a bunch of meat from Sam's for individual meal portions.

You can use any vacuum bags if they are not to thick .
If they are thick it will not seal properly .

Thanks, any idea how many mils is to thick to seal properly? I can't find anything in my manual or on the manufacturer's website. Guess I may just have to give it a try.

Robert, the bags I use in my ARY chamber sealer are 4 mils. They can stand up to boiling. There numerous sizes of those. I have only seen one bag that is 5 mils but there could be others.

Thanks Guy's I'll give it a try next time I break it out. By the way, I absolutely love the improvement over the vac sealer. I can now get a good seal on meat portions with marinades already in so that they marinate as they thaw. It will really give me some great options for quick meals on the grill. Although I don't think I'm ready to play with sous vide any time soon.
