Interesting hobby.Been reading about all the advances being made thanks to miniaturization in electronics and how its expanding its capabilities while reducing costs.
Getting past the privacy concerns some have,its pretty neat what is being done when used as a hobby.

I have been doing a lot of research and shopping since the first of the year and I am going to be ordering the DJI Phantom 3 Standard soon.
As for privacy, you don't have to worry, because once the drone is 30 ft, you can't identify anybody on the ground. And with the noise it makes, you can't sneak up on someone without their knowledge. Someone won't be able to hover outside your window and take videos without you hearing it.

If interested in drones, first check out the Chinese sites like gearbest or geekbuying. They are about 60% less in price. It takes a month to get them though. They ship by mail.

That one starts at $260 U.S., up to $650 with gps and 1080p camera.

Jack I was leaning toward the DJI Phantom 3 standard to,until I ran across this one,it operates off GPS to.. Got it from Gearbest for $207 plus shipping and insurance.Total $232 and two week delivery . This thing has auto take off and landing.Auto return to home switch and if you loose power or signal it will return to place it took off from. When you release any control it will just hoover in the same spot. I have been flying Radio control planes off and on since the early seventies and this is the most forgiving RC I have ever flown.

I have a 6 axis drone but they don't like it here in the park. The Canadians say its invading on their privacy.....EH

That's terrible ...so far so good here. I love the gps on this drone....you can press a button to auto take off,land,and return home . Lay the transmitter down and it just hoovers in one spot. Good luck with the sail boat !!!

Wow snooping around the forum I have found someone who enjoys another of my hobbies. Love taking video with my quads. Follow the rules and respect peoples privacy and you are good to go to make some AWESOME videos :)

Hmmm, I had no idea that option was out there, guess I should look into it.
Just posting something for the OP to look at and maybe learn that you can go from a cheap UAV to something that will make you money :)

Have you had to deal with DJI's Customer Support at all? I heard its terrible is this true. Howto you like the Phantom? I went with Yuneec and so far pretty satisfied with it. I have crashed a few smaller ones though :)

Nice video Jackson...I wish I could have one of those. Oh I do have DJI blades lol I have had mine well over a year and haven't crashed it yet...thank the good Lord. They really do make good videos. I really enjoy mine and do go by the rules. How about you and Augustine posting some more videos.
