Just joined the "Let's Talk BBQ" forum. This will be my first year trying to compete in BBQ contests. I have been planning, researching and preparing for the last couple of years. I am looking forward to meeting, hanging out with and learning from some great people. That is one reason why I got interested in competing. My good friend Steve Carmichael of Great Plains BBQ has been alot of help and encouragement.
The name of our team is da Wreck'n Q. My Daughters and I played competitive fastpitch softball for about 10 yrs on a team that we called da Wreck'n Crew. When it came time to name our team, we decided to continue the tradition.

Pam- Was reading about the "pot" bust on the net....don't care where you're from that there is funny. Glad she didn't remove her bumper sticker!
Our tag line is: "Tearin' Up A Pit Near You" When we played softball we had "Tearin' Up A Diamon Near You" on our uniforms.
Thanks all for the nice reception, sounds like this will be a great place to call home.

2P..didin't you see on the news where an old Lady from Ohio was in Memphis and had a buckeye leaf on her car..the cops stopped her and when she got out of the car..the only thing that saved her was the same buckeye leaf on her OSU sweatshirt. They thought it was a marijuana leaf. LOL..and I'm getting better..thank 2P. Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

I am using a Yoder 1320 pellet smoker, a couple of VUDS I have built (yes mine are very ugly!!!) and a Wally special. Still learning my 1320, but my cooks are getting alot more consistent!
