Title: Pork Lovers - Listen to This
Post by: Dakota Don on March 19, 2013, 11:08:49 PM
This aired on Iowa Public Radio today and they put on their website, you can read the first 2 minutes of the interview, but there is play button below so you can listen to this guy. He knows what he's talking about. I was thinking I was the only one having problems getting flavorful pork chops and roasts, but he explains how the breeders ruined it for us pork lovers. He solved the problem by resurrecting an old German breed and tweaking it! He raises a bunch of them.

Swabian pork has been a well kept secret of many of the most expensive restaurants. I am glad it is growing in popularity, and availability.

Was this on Anthony Zimmers show on the travel channel last night? He did a very good segment on hogs in Iowa last night?

I'm not sure... I just happened to catch it on the radio, went onto the IPR website & grabbed it... but I'm guessing it was probably the same Farmer/Breeder as we only have 1 or 2 hog farms here in Iowa.  :D
