Title: New Guy From Missouri
Post by: weltschj on June 14, 2013, 01:51:22 PM
Hello all! I'm 26 and from Springfield, MO. I work for a major Railroad and I'm new to grilling.
I recently purchase TBE and have gone 2/2 on successful cooks. Looking forward to learning from your experiences and sharing some of my own.

Glad you made it over here.  There's a little store there in Springfield that sells some interesting things.  You may have heard of it since Springfield is not all that bit....Bass Pro Shop.  Ever been there?  ;) Dee

Welcome from middle Georgia...

TBE is a great cooker. Sounds like you are doing well with it.

I hope you'll stick around... So many of these guys are Old dudes. They can cook, they're just old.

Welcome from mid Alabama, you have purchased a fine cooker and can do so much more in it that "fry" turkeys. If you haven't bought any accesories yet I would suggest getting this:

http://www.charbroil.com/15-piece-big-easy-accessory-kit-8456885.html

And at least one more set of leg racks. This will allow to cook two whole chickens at a time, two layers of chicken legs, two layers of wings, two boston butts,  a rib roast with baked potatoes on top, whatever. I have 4 for mine and get get 4 layers of chicken wings on at a time. TBE cooks the best chicken wings ever and the best baked potatoes ever. My wife doesn't want a  baked potato cooked any other way.

A big, warm welcome from Illinois to you!  I've been a griller for a long time using charcoal and gas. Then I bought a Big Easy and it changed the way I think about outdoors cooking. You are going to love your experiments. Enjoy and don't be afraid to ask questions, somebody here will have a good answer to anything you could think of.

Hi,

Welcome from Minnesota. I'm sorry to be so late the party, somehow I missed your original post. I have an SRG (like TBE with a lid and few details) my brother has TBE. These are the best cookers for wings that have ever been invented. They are great for all poultry, potatoes and a variety of other cooks - but if I made nothing but wings, I would be happy with this cooker. Looking forward to stories about your cooks (and pictures!)

Cheers,

David
