Title: Oven baked pizza on the menu tonight
Post by: pz on September 27, 2013, 10:15:32 PM
Too cold and windy outside this afternoon, so inside it is with our pizza bake.  Planned ingredients for two different pizzas: leftover SRG smoked chicken, black olives, oven roasted tomatoes, fresh heirloom tomatoes, pepperoncinis, basil, smoked pepper jack, and smoked mozzarella.

We made pizzas with two toppings, but they both look the same on top, so this is one of them.

Oven dried tomatoes (the ones we did in the wood fired oven residual heat a while ago), pepperoncinis, black olives, basil, smoked pepper jack, feta, red pepper flakes, topped with smoked mozzarella

Thanks all - I really can't take credit though, my sweetie makes the dough and prepares the pizza - all I really do is prep chef the ingredients and man the oven so they cook properly.

Right now enjoying a Bardenay rum (interestingly produced in Boise, Idaho) - cane sugar rather than molasses, and of course, a slice of pizza even though I'm already as stuffed as a sausage.  ;D

Hold the olives, and I'll take a piece of them all.

Looks as good as your outdoor oven. You must have a magic indoor oven  8)

Lol, thanks. I'm convinced it is the way my sweetie makes the dough, because over the years the pizzas have become better even though the equipment is still the same old stuff.

You got it, sparky!  ;)  I agree with you fishingbouchman, that rustic appearance seems to make it taste better - kind of like eating a burger outdoors versus indoors - outdoors always seems better.

We did leftover pizza tonight - after reheating in the oven at 400F, we top with a fried egg and red pepper flakes (sorry about the focus)

Rustic is best, yes! I love a runny egg on a pizza - very nice!  :P :P
