Title: Ribeyes on the Gas Grill from Hell
Post by: hikerman on October 29, 2013, 09:27:17 PM
I no sooner recovered from last night's ordeal on the grill from hell, when it was time to get back on the horse. But fortunately this would be the last time for that. Tomorrow we go to Mountain View, AR for 3 nights in a cabin we've stayed at before.  Back to the meal, we had two nice ribeyes that I rubbed liberally with Fine Swine & Bovine last night and refrigerated for 24 hours. I started some roasted red skin potatoes,  with EVOO, onions, garic, and fresh rosemary.
When they were half done I threw the steaks on, at some point the grill's diffuser split in half, and flare-ups became an issue. Luckily everything made it off the grill with no hitch. We had a nice salad of baby greens, the potatoes, fresh shrooms cooked in garlic and butter with thyme over the steaks. A great meal after a rain filled day, time for a beer and a good stogie.  8)

I admire your cooking skills, but the abity to make a fun adventure out of difficult circumstances is what brings it all together! There's no doubt that the rest of your vacation will be great.

Man, I'd say that counts as making a silk purse from a sow's ear.  8) The steak & taters look great!
