Title: Wolfe's "Gunpowder" pepper stout beef
Post by: smokeasaurus on April 14, 2012, 12:35:21 PM
I have tried this recipe before with varying degrees of success (Chuckies can be evil), and I think I have got it pegged. Only variation is using "Gunpowder Seasoning"..(Shout out to Tommy for turning me on to this great stuff!!)

Seasoned the chuckies with thick L&P Wooster and Gunpowder and into the fridge to sit all day before the long overnight cook!

Those chuckles should tenderize with the gunpowder and Wooster ;)

Gonna use your cookshack clone for the smoke?

Well, I got a good nights sleep and it is now 6 a.m. Sunday and where are the chuckies....IN THE FRIDGE :o,  I forgot to put them in last night....I told you chuckies are evil  >:(

So I tossed some hickory and the chuckies in and set the smoker for 250....................

So after 6.5 hours in the smoker the chuckies are stalling at around 148 degrees internal so it is time to get the veggies chopped up.......... (those are sweet peppers in the little container..never had em before but I am today) 8)

Pulled the chuckies out with an internal temp at 150...layed em on the veggie-guiness-wooster medly and wrapped em up in foil in the oven for 2-2.5 hours at 350. The recipe states not to go off of temps now..when you can twirl a fork in em they are done and can be pulled and mixed into the veggies.........

This is one of those recipes that work out well with any heat source!!  Hickory seems to be the best smoke though for this recipe...just sayin.....

Go get em Muebe!!!!  ;D

So the evil chuckie gave in to the moist steady temperature of the electric smoker (2.5 hours in a 350 degree oven breaking down all connective tissue didn't hurt either)..another chuckie goes down for the count 8)

a little pepper jack cheese and a boiger bun and it is on and poppin!!

That's a 10 + cook!   When I first sent the GunPowder out I never knew so many would jump in and use like this.

Hey where is Smoochy?  Did he drink the left over beer and pass out??

I would have to say between the beer and the sammies he was one stuffed Smoochy.

Great cook, I only hope I can make one as good soon.

Cooking food like that and leaving Smoochy out of the cook?  Shameful, Shameful, Shameful  as Gomer Pyle would say.

Smoochy, if you ever need a place to stay, come to Bama I live on a large farm with a pond you could swim for days and I wouldn't leave you in the truck....   ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)    And I have Kingsford on hand. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
