Title: Homemade Chipotle seasonings
Post by: muebe on December 02, 2011, 12:18:03 AM
I wanted to make my own chipotle seasonings ;D

Loaded 3 trays of jalapenos(halved) into the OBS with convection fan on and 2 hours of hickory at a cabinet temp of 140F...

After drying out in the OBS all day...

I picked up a cheap spice grinder from BB&B. I have a really good grinder but that is for coffee only...

Snipped up the dried peppers and into the grinder...

And now ground down to a powder...

I was able to make four different small jars ;D

Chipotle(Straight)
Chipotle with onion/garlic powder
Chipotle with Gunpowder
Chipotle with BAMA Red

Outstanding Mike!

Would you mind posting pictures and instructions/suggestions for modifying your Bradley smoker? I think that is a really great subject, and many folks will be interested in seeing that for sure.

I love this thread, and now have a good idea on how to do it!   Thanks
