Title: Another new toy
Post by: bbqchef on March 24, 2014, 08:59:24 AM

I recently received an "Island Grillstone"... a 14 x 14 inch block of volcanic rock for my Broilmaster grill. I had the opportunity to try it out this weekend for some grilled veggies... I like it!

I'll keep it on one side of the grill and GrillGrates on the other side. Seems like it might be the perfect combination!

Mike - this is interesting to me. I have sent eh volcanic rock slabs, and thought about them as a different "griddle" surface....Would you say there are any differences in how it cooks = vs -  a cast iron griddle?
Thanks!

Looks real good Chef! I have seen it in action (via video) from another cooking site.
Just not sure if I really need another "toy" in my arsenal!  ;)

Know what you mean... I have a garage full of "toys," many of which I never use.

I won an Island Grillstone a couple of years ago and I just love it. I cook everything on it. My grates were losing their porcelain coating and I was afraid to cook on them. So I just put the stone on it and seasoned it then used it. When it cools just flip it over and it will clean itself. Works for me. Your gonna love it too. This one is a keeper and like cooking on a cast iron griddle.   Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
