I cook mainly with charcoal , & a lot as indirect cooking with a fire on one end & food on the other.
It's how I learned to outdoor cook , I've tried many other methods but it's what I come back to ::)
To concentrate the fuel/fire I've used a lot of charcoal baskets / fences.
I make some out of expanded metal & some I re-purpose things I've bought.
I've used in my offset, the big cooker @ LostArrow hunt camp , my WSM, my Akorn , down to my CB-500 table cooker.

A man after my own heart! Started with charcoal over 60 yrs ago, and STILL my preferred method by far. Don't use that many baskets, etc, cause my trusty 940X is big enough I generally don't need to. IF I do, I use my equally as old SMK attachment made by CharBroil, way back then. Carry on!
