Hadn't used the CB 500X yet this year, so thought we would cook up some fresh bratwurst and sweet corn on it. Got the Grill Grates warming up over a nice bed of coals with a few chunks of apple wood. Threw the corn on 20 minutes before the brats.
This Winter I did a leg mod. on the 500X. I love this little grill but is a pain to bend over and cook or to set up the table for it, so I added legs. Grill height is now a very manageable 27" off the ground.
Ok the brats get tossed on the GG's. The three on the left are jalapeno brats and the four on right are plain. Corn chugging along!
Looking good! A tip: Since I don't believe in boiling brats in beer, for a bit of flavor I will pour about 4 oz. of beer on the GG's and close the lid.
All done! A non-boiled, charcoal grilled jalapeno brat served on a toasted bun with plenty of Spicy Slawsa, a fresh garden salad, German potato salad, grilled corn with plenty of butter sprinkled with Tajin Mex. seasoning, and a couple Sam Adams Lattitude 48 IPA's!
In the last pic, that is a juicy brat! No gray, boiled meat here! Say,you don't boil your ribs....do you fellas?
Cheers!
