It's a cone shaped charcoal holder. I will bring it to the Gathering and show how it works. I am not exactly sure
what it does better, but my chicken has gone up another step or two since I got it. I did a pork butt awhile back using
the Vortex and it was awesome! I also plan on bring my Old Smokey and my Jumbo Joe. I think we will have the Rec
Tec pellet grills so will probably leave the Junior at home.  See you in a few weeks!

Here you go Pam! This is made of stainless steel.  I bought it from Mad Hunky meats.

Direct Cooking
: Fill up with one chimney, put chunk or a couple of chunks of wood directly above it on the grate.
Circle the Vortex with wings, etc.

Indirect Cooking:  (Charcoal is set up around the outside of the Vortex using the snake method.
Put a pie pan in the middle to catch the drippings or use for water. Place meat directly over the center.

Similar to a small gas grill - the Euro City Grill. It used an internal cone that could be open or focused like the Vortex. It actually worked quite well - still have one in the garage...  ::) Just a bit small for every day use. Might have to try the cone in a larger grill... ::)
