Salmon and Sirloins
« Reply #-1 on: October 30, 2014, 06:32:42 PM »
So on the way home last night my wife informed me that she thought it was a good idea for me to take some time off from the remodel of our house.  It was time for me to head for the mountains to go hunting.  That was a cause for celebration so I decided to do something special for her....

Grabbed some wild caught copper river salmon, brushed it with some EVOO, a bit of garlic salt, a bit of dill, some Old Bay and then polk-dots of capers.  Laid it on a cedar plank and put on the Weber with in-direct heat and cherry wood for some smoke.  When the salmon was close I tossed some Sirloins on over the coals and cooked them up real quick.

Looks pretty good, I was worried that it would be too smoky

I got it a bit too warm to fast, but not too bad.  Salmon had a very light smoky flavor that was just about the right blend.  Sorry about not having any plating shots, I went out to grab hunting gear and they were almost done eating :)

Enjoy!
