Sunday Surf 'n Turf
« Reply #-1 on: January 25, 2015, 08:21:53 PM »
A quiet Sunday afternoon. I was flipping back and forth between two of the best: Rambo-First Blood II and Terminator II. Spent most of the time on Ahhhnald, just hit Sly on the commercials. Best MC scenes in the history chasing the kid through the LA rivers system.  Oh, and I've just Ggtta get me one of those lever action 10 Gauges!

Anyway, got the hankering for a little Surf 'n Turf.  So after the movies, I went by the HT, found some Cod for $6/lb., Rainbow Trout for $7/lb. and a Flat Iron for $7/lb. All told the proteins ran $7.42.

My girlfriend is slowly coming around to grilled fish and only likes the mild white flaky stuff ,so I knew she would enjoy the Cod.

The rest, as they say, is dinner ! ! ! !

That looks great - I'll take all of it! And if anyone pushes their trout to the side - send it here! Very nice dinner!

At the grocery store today - sushi grade tuna $11.99 / lb., Northern Pike (from any lake in MN) $17.99lb! Cod - $8.99 lb.  Bought some chicken to sous vide - $3.59 lb.

Will look for cod at the Asian market. This looks like an excellent dish.

I like Northern, but most of friends throw them back... Yeah $18 is just silly!
