Coffee-Rubbed Ribs with Coffee Barbecue Sauce
« Reply #-1 on: January 29, 2015, 07:49:09 PM »
Got an email from Weber with this recipe.
http://www.weber.com/recipes/pork/coffee-rubbed-ribs-with-coffee-barbecue-sauce

So I had to give it a try. Couple of things I changed. I used SL Ribs and I added some CYM. I had I rack the other day and I have one rack vac sealed for Sunday’s game.

Rub

Rubbed

Making the sauce

Pulled and they look good enough to eat w/o sauce but since I made the sauce I will use it.

Sauced and back on the weber

Pulled about an hour later. Not bad at all.

You know, not really. It wasn't overwhelming, but I wonder when I pull them on Sunday after they have been in the sauce for almost a week if the coffee will be more pronounced.

A few years ago, I picked one up at W&S (I know....  ::) ) Never found a coffee taste. On the other hand, I really didn't find it worth the money.

Nice bones RAD! I put a coffee rub on tri-tips and not much of a coffee taste if at all. I think it adds to a subtle woody taste. You sure got a good color too!

Nice work.  I put coffee in most of my beef rubs, and while there is a subtle note to the flavor it is only really noticeable on short cooks (like grilled steaks).
