Breaking in a new one with a pork butt...
« Reply #-1 on: March 21, 2015, 08:43:33 PM »
Was at SAM's Club about a month ago and saw the store manager had marked down a Vision Classic "M" series to $140 and I just had to take it home!

-----

It did not come with a plate setter so I got the belt sander out and shaved down a stone for a Akorn to fit, now just need to come up with spacers for the grill grate... till then I am using the feet from a BGE and a smaller grate.

Anyways I did a test burn and now time to break it in with a pork butt rubbed down with Cowtown BBQ The Squeal Hog Rub and used cherry chunks for smoke.

-----

The Vision held tight temps and works like a champ!

-----

-----

So I had me some BBQ potato chips and a pulled pork sandwich garnished with Slawsa and Smokey Dave’s Bird Bath and Grilling Sauce... good eating!

Thanks for looking!

Marty it looks like you are really getting into ceramic cookers.

The pulled pork looks great.  I like slaw on pulled pork sammies, I'll have to give Slawsa a try on one sometime.

Good looking PP.  I have 2 pork butts that I cut up into chunks on my grill.  Making a big batch of burnt ends right now.  I'll post later.

I got me one of those as well. Mine wasn't marked down as far as yours ($199). One of these days I need to wheel it out of the dinning room and onto the deck with the rest of the family!

Poke looks really good!
