Baby Boston Butt

My sister found a deal at her local Teeter in New Bern, NC.  A bunch of small Boston Butts on sale for 79¢ a pound . . . . that’s right 79¢ ! ! !  All of them were under 4 lbs.  She picked up all ten that they had in case and brought them to me.

I figured that these little guys would be great for a Sunday afternoon cook for a small group, like me, my girlfriend, daughter and son-in-law.  Today's entry was a little over 3 1/2 lbs.

I put it on at 1:00 and cooked it for 5 hours with Little Man running between 240º - 275º.

About halfway through, I threw some hot Italian sausages on just to see how they'd turn out.

At 6:00, the Baby Butt had an IT of 178º, so I wrapped it and popped it into a 300º oven for an hour.

While it was in the oven, we took a little break with a nice cocktail, one of those sausages, and some toasted cheese raviolis . . .

Pulled it from the oven at 7:00 and let it rest while the steak fries and roasted corn ready.  Then I started on the Baby Butt, it pulled very easily.

(By the way, as far a frozen corn goes, this Baja Roasted Corn from Sam's is about the best.)

Mangia ! ! ! !

I could fill my freezer at those prices!!  BTW, love your drink of choice.  Enjoyed one tonight while cooking some lamb chops on the Weber.
