I didn't know that's what they're called, either.  I haven't thought about them for years–since Boy Scout camping.  I'll have two portions, please.

I know they are called Campfire potatoes in some locals. I am originally from the west coast and we call them hobo potatoes. I just call them guuuuud!  ;)

I always the potatoes like that when I was camping, but always had ground beef in it. A one "dish" meal. You just cooked it till it smelled real good.
