Then electric grills are likely the only approved kind. And - there are a few out there among our members here. How about anyone with an electric grill - tell us what kind you have, how you use yours, post some recipes, and usage ideas.

I know this is an old post but I have some say in this. Living in Paris France, they HATE BBQs and you just cant do it outside.
I purchased a Weber Q240, a pretty decent sized grill that gives a pretty good grill mark and can be heavily modified. For example I get wood chips and wrap them in foil and place them in the back or under the burners, I also put in a drip pan with some apple juice to give some moisture that you get robbed with an electric grill.

All in all im pretty happy with it when im at my apartment.
It can get pretty hot and with a lid that acts like an oven you can get an even cook but really really have to watch out to not over cook it as there is only direct cooking.
For indirect I use those foil pans, flip it upside down with some holes in it and grill away.
