Question for the Weber guys...
« Reply #-1 on: May 11, 2015, 09:53:33 AM »

We're loving our new WSM, it is a wing cooking machine.

However, that top rack (same as the one on my kettle), has the stupid huge gap near the handles.    I keep having to rescue wings that roll through the gap and onto the lower rack.    I'm dumping in 10lb bags - 5 dozen wings - at a pop.   Gently arranging them 1 at a time isn't an option.

Any neat tricks for utilizing that gap??

I though about trimming some old frogmats to fit over the handle and fill that area in, but I doubt they will survive the heat from the lump we are burning.

TIA!
STC.

I know that the 'Q mat I have from Amazen Products is good for 500F.  I would think that would do it.....?

You could wire in a small pc of expanded metal on each side...................you can get the thinner stuff at the hardware store so it would be easy to work with......

That's kind of what I was thinking as well.    I was looking for a big pizza screen, but they don't make them 22" across..
