Ideas for pork butt
« Reply #-1 on: July 02, 2015, 01:37:22 AM »
Read a few methods but would like to see what you all do for when you want to try something different. Last butt I did had mustard and fine swine and bovine. Thinking of making an injection this time and using honey or some type of nectar juice to make it sweet. Help me out with some ideas. Parents come in on the 11th and I plan cook a 6-7 lb butt for my dad's bday dinner.8)

You might want to try "Pork Burnt Ends" for a great change with a pork butt.

Give that butt a nice slather of molasses on the outside along with your favorite rub. Makes for some tasty bark!

Yes it does!  A bit of a mess in your smoker when it comes time to clean up but it is well worth it.

If you smoke meat, have hd foil setting around. I also get a good bark using pancake syrup as meat glue.  I think Tim has a good injection recipe somewhere.......
