Rutland or Nomex gaskets for Green Egg
« Reply #-1 on: July 04, 2015, 12:20:10 AM »
My 2 year old gasket burned up while making pizza so I need to replace it, any thoughts on one or the other.

You might try cooking without the gasket!
You might have to recalibrate your settings on vents but I & a couple people I know got tired of replacing gaskets, still works & usually the slight air leak is inconsequential .

I use Nomex when I replace seals on kamados.  They work good.  Don't know about the Rutland.

I went with the Rutland, following the directions at the nakedwhiz.

Did you put the gasket on the top and bottom?. Did you have to readjust your dome?. I like that gasket.

The gasket goes on the bottom only, its thick and seals great with no adjustment
