Like many of you, I have owned and cooked with all kinds of grills and smokers over the years – gas, electric, charcoal (including ceramic grills/smokers) and pellet.  The only type that I had not owned until now was a wood burning smoker.   

I had been eyeing (and drooling over) the Karubecue for at least two years before 1Bigg_ER's post ”Karubecue has landed” (loaded with food photos).  That's all it took.   

1Bigg_ER MADE ME DO IT - I ordered a Karubecue.  I don't pretend to be the caliber cook or photographer 1Bigg_ER is but I thought some of you might like to see the results of two of my first three smokes with the Karubecue.  The turkey was the second smoke, the beef ribs the third smoke.  I didn't get pictures of the first smoke which was pork spareribs.

Everything about this smoker is top notch from the design and construction to the food it produces.  Even the packing was exceptionally well done.  It is a stick burner and not set it and forget it and as such may not be right for some people, but I honestly don't think I could ever go back to the other types of smokers.

Thanks for the kind comments.  I must tell you though, that all I really did was to feed the fire.  The smoker did the rest.

Don't give up.

Everytime I talk about getting a new (another) grill/smoker, my lovely wife asks where are you going to put it?  Which of your others are you going to give up?  She never questions the money,  but she does question the space it will take up on the deck or patio.  So far, I have given up a Cookshack electric smoker, a Kamado Joe Ceramic and a PBC unit.  I still have a pellet grill/smoker and my Weber kettle (which I will never give up). She hasn't yet, but if she insists on it, I will give up the pellet unit to keep the Karubecue.  I love this smoker.  Don't give up.

Good as the food looks that comes off the Karubeque ,they have got to send some sort of fancy camera with it. lol Congratulations on the new cooker .

Let me ask a question. I don't have a covered area for it. Is it built to be sitting outside? In the rain? Can you get a cover for it?
