Pittsburgh Steak Salad
« Reply #-1 on: April 02, 2016, 02:12:35 PM »
I have been pretty quiet recently, and I almost didn't take a picture of this... Then I thought to myself "no pics, didn't happen."  It's hard to improve on something as close to perfect as a Pittsburgh Steak Salad, but here it goes.  Protein is a tri-tip smoked to 120 in the Davy Crockett and then reverse seared in a cast iron skillet.  Fries are fresh cut and fried in peanut oil.

Outstanding! Fries on a salad is definitely a classic Pittsburgh thing.

I wish.  It was something of a last minute decision.  Needed to look to see if I even had the ranch, otherwise I was going to have to use some of SWMBO's Italian.
