Tri-tip with mushrooms and Hasselbeck potatoes
« Reply #-1 on: April 16, 2016, 07:04:50 PM »
Finding a decent looking tri-tip in Minnesota is not easy. If you do see one, it is 10 bucks a pound and does not look right. Stepped into a butcher shop I hadn't been to in several months. I went for brats as they have great ones.

Saw this bad boy in the case, and it was on sale for $6.99 per pound. God smiled on me.  The toothpick is my reminder of how the grain runs and where it changes.

Seasoned up with SPG then on to the flat side of my grillgrates on my Weber Performer.

Pulled at 125 degrees. This was a real treat on a beautiful 80 degree Minnesota day.

Pappy,
You killed it!!  Looks fantastic!  I may be doing a tri-tip later this week, SV-style.  We have guests coming in and I am planning on serving the tri-tip with a potato dish my Mother used to make and my Caesar salad.  I hope my tri-tip looks as good as yours.
