Weber Performer Question - From Craigslist?
« Reply #-1 on: June 24, 2016, 10:55:50 PM »
I have been looking to add a charcoal grill to my arsenal for the upcoming competition.

I have someone about a 1/2 hour away selling one of these in pretty good shape for $100.  I know they retail for more than that- what's the consensus?

I do have an option on renting a grill for the competition - talking with a local company on Monday (they are having a BBQ bootcamp tonight/ tomorrow so the owner asked if I could stop by Monday.)

That grill when it was new was $149.  The handles tell ya the it is at least 3 or 4 years old.  Offer him $50.  Of he doesn't take that go get a new one.

It's a Weber Gold , not performer.
It's not the latest model as Sparky says.
50% of cost ($75) is a fair price

This is why I asked first.  I was not sure, not having really paid attention to the Weber grills before for cost.

Thanks for the help.

I dunno, Sparky, when did they change over to the new style ash catcher?

I agree $50 is a good price.

Whatever route you go, I'd stick with one that has the ash catcher as opposed to the "frisbee" disk.
